This is the first time an executive has won the award for four straight years
Walter Schalka, our chief executive officer, was named, for the fourth consecutive year, the best CEO in Latin America’s pulp and paper industry. The award was given by RISI, the leading provider of information on the global forestry industry. The group of analysts and specialists from the pulp and paper industry that participated in the survey chose Schalka for the way he runs our company.
“This award belongs to the more than 8,000 employees of Suzano. A very special year in the company’s history, 2017 was marked by growth and preparing for the future. We reported record-high operating cash flow and a steady decline in our leverage ratio, concluded important projects on our production lines, entered the Brazilian tissue market, received an investment-grade rating from Fitch and migrated to the Novo Mercado listing segment,” said Schalka.
The award will be presented on August 14, during the Latin America Conference of RISI, which will be held on August 13 to 15 at the Renaissance Hotel in São Paulo city. The event will feature lectures by leaders, industry specialists and economists from RISI, who will present the industry’s latest trends and challenges.
