Lignin is a byproduct of pulp production (obtained from the black liquor which result from the wood cooking process) and is currently used by the industry to generate power. It can also replace petroleum distillates in higher-value applications, such as the construction and furniture industries.
With annual production capacity of 20,000 tons, this milestone places the company firmly at the technological frontier of the industry, while strengthening its strategy for adjacent business.
