Receiving the FSC certification is the result of years of substantial investments being made by Suzano Papel e Celulose in sustainable production of its eucalyptus planted forests.

The FSC - Forest Stewardship Council - is an important independent non-governmental organization that assesses, accredits and monitors certifying bodies and forestry products, and seeks to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world's forests.

Since 1998, Suzano has been investing in new ways of producing pulp and paper to obtain this certification related to the management of its forests located in the states of Espírito Santo and Bahia. From now on, Suzano's Mucuri Mill, certified by Smartwood, and the companies that use its pulp as raw-material will be able to have the FSC trademark stamped on its products.

This certification ensures the acknowledgment of the company's efforts to preserve the environment and promote social development of the communities in which it is present. Suzano is proud to share this with their customers and partners who have believed in, and supported, the company's initiatives over the years.
