Chinese anti-trust authority approves Suzano-Fibria deals

SAO PAULO, Sept. 4, 2018 (PPI Latin America) -Brazilian giant bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp producers Suzano and Fibria have received authorization from the Chinese anti-trust agency to move on with their potential merger deal. Combined, the companies will have an annual capacity to supply 11 million tonnes of BEK pulp.

To conclude the deal, Suzano and Fibria are still waiting for the final approval from the Brazilian anti-trust agency Cade and the green light from the European Union. The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) already granted the authorization for the merger on June 1.
