Suzano-Fibria merger reaches Brazilian antitrust entity Cade


SAO PAULO, July 3, 2018 (PPI Latin America) -The potential merger deal between Brazilian two largest pulp and paper producers, Suzano and Fibria, has reached the country’s antitrust authority (Cade) on July 2, according to a publication in the Brazilian Official Diary of the Union. In the document, the companies informed the entity that the deal involves the production of pulp and paper, eucalyptus plantations and the management of port infrastructure.

According to Cade’s legislation, merger and acquisition deals should be analyzed in up to 240 days and this deadline can be extended only once by further 90 days.
