Suzano was honored in the Deals of the Year Awards organized by the magazine LatinFinance. The company was recognized in the category Trade Financing of the Year for structuring the financial transaction that made possible the merger of Suzano Pulp & Paper and Fibria, specifically the US$9.2 billion in funding operations negotiated with various financial institutions in early 2018. The awards ceremony was held in New York last night (31).
“It is an honor to receive this award in a year that marked the conclusion of a historic agreement for the industry. The professionals involved in the structuring operation played a key role in ensuring the success of the merger of Suzano and Fibria,” said Marcelo Bacci, Chief Financial and Investor Relations Officer at Suzano.
LatinFinance carries out every year an analysis of major financial transactions to select the winners of the award, which recognizes in 28 categories the companies and professionals involved in the transactions. The winner in the category Trade Financing of the Year is selected by the magazine’s editors, who consider the transaction’s innovation, market impact and execution.
