Commitment to sustainability

Offering carbon-neutralized paper packaging is one of the many benefits of the sustainable chain that Suzano has built throughout its history. This is another step in our ongoing commitment to combat the climate crisis. This benefit extends to you, your product, the market, and the planet. The TP White line® Neutral Carbon is a product of our sustainability for yours.

What is the TP White® Carbon Neutral line

The Neutral Carbon versions of two of our paperboard products - TP White Plus® and TP White Pharma Plus® - are intended to reduce climate impact and expand the sustainability benefits promoted by Suzano throughout the packaging chain.

The quality and recipes of the products do not change, but by opting for the Neutral Carbon version, we are offsetting the emissions generated in the paperboard production process from the planting of the eucalyptus sapling to the product leaving our factory. This means that, in addition to maintaining the excellence and durability of the products, we actively contribute to the reduction of environmental impact.

How Suzano removes carbon from the atmosphere

In addition to having eucalyptus plantations cultivated with respect to the best sustainability practices, Suzano dedicates 40% of its land — equivalent to 1.1 million hectares — to the conservation of native vegetation in Brazil. This gives the company great potential to remove carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere.

How compensation works

Compensation occurs in a personalized way through individual carbon credit retirement certificates issued on the Verra platform, which operates the world's leading carbon credit program, called the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).

Where do carbon credits come from

The credits come from reforestation projects based on the Afforestation, Reforestation and Restoration methodology of the Clean Development Mechanism (ACM0003) located in the Três Lagoas region, in Mato Grosso do Sul.

The project involves the implementation of a landscape that combines the planting of eucalyptus trees and native vegetation, in areas dedicated to each type of cultivation. The initiative underwent independent third-party auditing for validation and verification, and was submitted for final registration on the Verra platform, in accordance with the standards of the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).
