Suzano, the world's largest producer of market pulp and a global reference in the manufacture of bioproducts developed from the cultivation of eucalyptus, this week opened enrollment for a new group of the professional qualification course in Mechanics of Forestry Machines, which will be taught by the National Service of Industrial Learning (Senai) in Ribas do Rio Pardo (MS). With 80 vacancies offered, the training aims to meet the company's demand in its forestry operations in the municipality where it builds its new pulp mill.
Enrollment is open to all interested persons, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, origin, social class, education, disability and sexual orientation, as long as they meet certain prerequisites. To participate in the selection process, candidates must be: 18 years of age or older, complete Elementary School and CNH (National Driver's License) in category B or above, category C being desirable. The course will be given in Ribas do Rio Pardo, from Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 5 pm, with practical and theoretical classes. The people who are selected will receive the following benefits: a grant in the amount of R$ 1,400.00, food on site and a certificate of professional training. It is important that interested people reside in the region where the course will be offered (Água Clara, Campo Grande or Ribas do Rio Pardo) or must be available to stay in Ribas do Rio Pardo.
“This is yet another Suzano training course aimed at contributing to the qualification of the local workforce, especially people who live in the municipality of Ribas do Rio Pardo, where the company's new factory is under construction. Suzano follows a guideline that says “it is only good for us if it is good for the world” and, by training these people to have more opportunities in the job market, we are contributing to the socioeconomic development of the region. The action is directly linked to the company's long-term goals of reducing social inequalities and removing 200,000 people from the poverty line by 2030, which directly involves professional qualification", says Angela Aparecida dos Santos, executive manager of Human Resources at Suzano .
One of the collaborators who were part of the first groups of the same course in 2022 is the mechanic Fernando Matos Querobim who, in a short time, already became part of the Suzano team. The employee dedicates the changes he and his family have experienced in recent months to training in forestry maintenance. “The course was very intense and, after the training, I felt more confident to work in the sector. It was the opportunity I needed to get a certificate and, in the end, winning a job at Suzano was a unique emotion. Today, I am part of this team that I am very proud of”, he adds.
